Barnsdall Art Park Foundation works closely with the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery Associates (LAMAGA) to support the Municipal Art Gallery at Barnsdall. LAMAGA is a non-profit support group founded in 1952, whose primary mission is to promote, assist, and serve as advocates specifically for the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery. Its principal mandates have been to enhance the exhibition programs, promote visitor understanding and appreciation of art through the education program, and to insure the Gallery’s accessibility and involvement with City-wide audiences and the surrounding immigrant communities.
In the past few years, BAPF and LAMAGA have worked together to organize the Gallery’s annual gala EAT DRINK ART, to provide essential marketing for gallery shows, and to co-fund guest curatorial exhibitions. To learn more about LAMAGA, visit www.lamag.org
