Mural Design by Hannah Maximova
MAKE YOUR MARK ON THE PARK
For nearly a century, Barnsdall Art Park has brought our community together through art, culture, and nature.
If Barnsdall’s last hundred years have meant something to you, show your support by sharing your wish for the next hundred.
A large-scale public mosaic mural created by students at Barnsdall Arts Center and led by Teaching Artist Hannah Maximova will be installed at the Arts Centers of Barnsdall in 2027, to be visible from across the Pine Grove. This glittering mural, depicting a landscape including both the Hollywood Hills and Barnsdall Art Park, will become a park and neighborhood landmark; a meeting place for generations to come.
A limited number of mosaic tiles will be reserved to incorporate the voices of our community into the mural. Your contribution secures a tile for you to inscribe your own wish for the park, along with your initials.
Barnsdall Art Park Foundation has helped support and sustain the park for over 23 years by investing in programming, landscaping, and equipment. Your support today upholds the park tomorrow, and into its next century.
Your Tile.
Your Wish for Barnsdall.
Once payment is received, we will send you a template to fill in with your wish using ONLY black sharpie which you can submit via email, mail, or in person. If you would prefer to write your wish on site, templates and sharpies are available at Barnsdall Arts Center during regular class hours. Your text will undergo a transfer process so it becomes part of the glass tile - it will not just be sharpie on top of the tile. You can see an example tile here - though please note all text and images will be in black.
